Tommy Lockwood came to Cross Road Baptist on May 3, 2020 as our Interim Pastor. His experience as a pastor of thirty years and an additional twelve years of consulting with revitalization, transitions, and coaching brings the necessary leadership to guide us along our journey toward a glorious future with transition, then transformation. His temporary time will be to guide and prepare us for God's future days with us, which include the call of a new pastor. He has been married to Sherri for 45 years. Together, they have three children, six grandchildren, and one new great granddaughter. Their home is in Kernersville. His passion for discipleship, encouragement, and focus on a God-called mission is playing out within our church body this year.
Mitch and his wife, Carol, came to serve at Cross Road in June 2018, having been partners in marriage and ministry since 1994. They met in Louisville, KY, where he earned a Master of Church Music degree and she earned a Master of Christian Education degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches in KY, TN, and NC since 1992. Mitch has participated in local and state missions in NC, KY, LA, MS, and, with Carol, in AK. They have also shared the love of Christ on mission internationally in Brazil. The Duncans enjoy serving the Lord with God's people, time spent with family and friends, playing disc golf, laughing with (and at) one another, and cuddling with their cats. Mitch enjoys writing songs and sharing God's Word through music, preaching, and teaching, while Carol enjoys reading, cooking, and cross stitch.
Mitch would love to speak with you about getting involved with our worship music ministry. There's something for everyone!
Justin serves as our Minister to Students, College and Young Professionals. He joined our staff in February of 2019. He and his wife, Candace, grew up in Randolph County. After they married in 2007, he attended Southeastern Seminary to receive his MDiv in Advanced Biblical Studies. Upon graduating, Justin and his wife moved to Concord, NC, where he served as Minister to Families for 8 years before God called him back to Randolph County to serve at Cross Road! Justin is passionate about teaching God's Word and leading people to grow deeper in a personal relationship with Jesus. His hope is that he can be an asset to parents as they seek God's will for discipling their children. He is also excited about leading our young people, planning missions opportunities, and getting involved in campus ministry! Justin plans to spend his down time at the zoo and the disc golf course. He, Candace, and their two daughters, Alaythia and Amelia, are excited to be here and excited for all God has in store!
