Pastor Johnny Henderson

Pastor Johnny Henderson serves as our Senior Pastor. Pastor Johnny has served the Lord in over 30 years of ministry and has been pastor of CRBC since September 1999. Pastor Johnny oversees all missions and ministry programs of the church, and in particular, the Bible teaching and preaching ministry. He has participated in many ministry and missions projects in a statewide, national and international context. Pastor Johnny has served on the boards of many ministries such as the BCM International Ministries, North Carolina Baptist Men, Prison Fellowship, Hank Williams Evangelistic Association, Jesse Crook Ministries, and others. He has also served on the General Board of the Baptist State Convention.

Johnny is married to Renea and has three daughters Adrienne, Danielle and Elizabeth and one grand-daughter Gracie Faith.



Pastor Gregg Arnold

Pastor Gregg Arnold serves as Minister of Outreach and Family. He is a 2006 graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. Gregg was licensed to preach in 1997, ordained into the ministry in 2000 and has formerly served as an interim pastor and a senior pastor before coming to Cross Road Baptist Church. Gregg served 4 years in the US Army and 18 in the Army National Guard. He spent 10 of those years as maintenance sergeant and fulltime maintenance technician for the NC Army National Guard where he was privileged to conduct religious services monthly for the men he served with. Gregg's current duties at Cross Road include: GROW Outreach and Visitation Coordinator; Coordinator for transportation ministry to Cross Road Retirement Center; and assisting the senior pastor in facilitating and expanding any other church program or ministry.

Gregg is married to Karen and has one son Nathaniel and two daughters Alyssa and Sarah.



Pastor Brandon Powell

Brandon joined the staff of Cross Road Baptist Church in October 2006 and serves as the Minister of Education/Students. Since receiving his call into full time ministry in 1999, Brandon has been active in Student Ministry. Before coming to Cross Road, he served 3 years as Associate Pastor/High School Minister at Central Baptist Church in Wendell, NC and prior to that he served as a leader in the Student Ministry at First Baptist Church in Garner, NC and later as the Student Ministry Intern.

Brandon received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from East Carolina in 1994 and his Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004. He and his wife Gina were married on May 28, 1995 and have three children: Katelyn, Joshua and Madison.



Bennie Holcombe

Bennie Holcombe serves as Minister of Muisc at Cross Road.  Bennie began studying music at an early age and was singing as a soloist by age 10.  At about that same time he began playing guitar under the guidance of his father who was a professional guitarist.  But it was in 1974 and 1975 while as a member of the Alabama All-State Choir under the tutelage of reknown director Dr. Jerold Ottley that he became interested in choir directing. For more than 30 years Bennie has continued to display his passion for music, both as director for numerous choirs and as worship leader.  He is married to his wife of 34 years, Mavis.  They have three children, three grand children, and make their home in Asheboro.


Laura Gillispie

Laura Gillispie serves as our Director of Children's Ministries. She has been involved in ministry to children for over 30 years. Laura has taught in a local Christian school for 26 years making a tremendous impact on children and their families. Laura looks forward to seeing how God uses each young life. 


Jan Winters

Jan Winters serves as Cross Road's Ministry Assistant. She has been serving in that position since 1982 when she and her husband Ken relocated the family to Asheboro. As Ministry Assistant, Jan is responsible for the day-to-day church office duties. This includes the weekly church bulletin and monthly newsletter, correspondence, and financial records, as well as numerous other miscellaneous details. Jan and Ken are the parents of two married daughters, Cheryl (husband Randy) and Dawn (husband Chris). Their 'empty nest' fills up when everyone comes to visit, including the grandchildren, Kayla, Cameron, Evie, Torie, and Nate, five of life's 'little blessings'.
